血管内皮生长因子与卒中及神经系统退行性疾病

摘要: 血管内皮细胞生长因子(vascular endothelial growth factor,VEGF)能诱导分化血管内皮祖细胞并使其增殖,具有3个主要特征:血管生成和修复、亲神经性、神经保护功能。研究提示了VEGF与神经细胞的凋亡、再生以及遗传基因背景之间的关系。通过提高VEGF水平,可以增加神经组织的血流灌注、协助神经干细胞的迁徙,达到保护神经的功能,延缓神经细胞凋亡,促进神经细胞生长的目的, VEGF基因治疗的研究也为卒中及神经退行性病变的治疗提供了一种新思路。

Abstract: As a mitogen of vascular endothelial cell, vascular endothelial growth factor, functions as an induction to differentiate stem cell into endothelial progenitor cells, characterizes as vascular effects, neurotrophic effects and neurogentic effects. Abnormal regulation of VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) expression has now been implicated in several neurodegenerative disorders to get involved in apoptosis, regeneration and genetic relationship of nerve cells. Increased release of VEGF may serve nerve system with hyperperfusion, stimulate the proliferation of neuronal precursors and promote neurogenesis. This has stimulated an increasing interest in assessing the therapeutic potential of VEGF as a neuroprotective agent for Cerebrovascular disease and neurodegenerative disorders.
