Abstract: 3P medicine is short for predictive, preventive and personalized medicine which isknown as the new trend of the 21st century. 3P represents the ultimate aim and the highest stageof modern medicine. In the post-genomic era, the development of systems biology represents whatmay be the most important new and revolutionary endeavor of 21st century biology. It aims to studybiological organisms as a whole and change the health care and medical practice fundamentally, thusto lead the medical science and practice into the new era of 3P medicine. This review explains theconcept of “3P” and systems biology, as well as the role of the 3P medicine and systems biology insystems medicine.
