Gudie for Authors

  • Statement on Academic Misconduct by the Chinese Journal of Stroke

    Academic publishing is a basis for knowledge dissemination and scientific advancement, and its vitality lies in truth, originality, and integrity. Academic misconduct poses a serious threat to the integrity of the knowledge system. It damages the reputation of researchers, wastes publishing resources, and undermines public trust in science. To uphold the seriousness and credibility of academic publishing, this journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of academic misconduct and strictly enforces the national standard academic publishing specifications—definition of academic misconduct for journals (CY/T 174—2019) (see appendix for details).

    The journal hereby solemnly declares that all submitted manuscripts must be original research works. Any form of plagiarism (including but not limited to text, ideas, data), fabrication or falsification of research data, inappropriate authorship (such as inclusion of individuals who did not participate in the research), duplicate publication, simultaneous submissions of the same manuscript, and fraudulent peer review are strictly prohibited. The editorial office employs a combination of academic misconduct literature detection systems and manual review to conduct a full-process screening of manuscripts.

    For manuscripts confirmed to involve academic misconduct, the journal will take measures including but not limited to the following:

    ·   Immediate rejection (for unpublished manuscripts) or retraction (for manuscripts published online or in print);

    ·   Notification to the author’s affiliated institution;

    ·   Inclusion of the authors in the journal’s academic integrity blacklist;

    ·   Publishing the retraction statement and disclosing details of the misconduct (based on the principle of transparency).

    We call on all authors to adhere to the principles of rigorous scholarship and personal integrity, firmly upholding the fundamental ethical standards in their research. Meanwhile, this journal will continue to refine the review process, enhance education on research integrity, and collaborate with academic and publishing organizations domestically and internationally to establish a coordinated system for prevention and oversight. It is only through the joint efforts of the academic community in maintaining a culture of honesty and diligence that we can promote the lasting advancement of human knowledge.
