Abstract: Objective To explore the risk factors and preventive measures for lower respiratory tract infection(LRTI) in stroke patients.Methods A retrospective analysis in 303 patients with stroke was carried out to investigate the incidence rate of LRTI. After one-way analyzing each related factor, the factors with P<0.05 were chosen to make non-conditional Logistic regression analysis.Results The incidence rate of LRTI in stroke patients was 35.97%. Related high risk factors in order were disturbance of consciousness, lesion location, invasive operation, diabetes mellitus, stroke type, and the OR values were 11.938, 2.751, 2.642, 2.381, 1.966 respectively.Conclusion More attention should be paid in nursing care and preventive measures to the stroke patients with high risk factors such as disturbance of consciousness, diabetes mellitus, so as to lower the occurrence of LRIT.
