Abstract: Varicella-zoster virus(VZV) infection may lead to central and peripheral vasculopathy. Post-infection vasculopathy of VZV is one of the most important reasons for diseases of central systems like cerebrospinal hypoxia and ischemic infarctions, aneurysms, intracerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage during childhood. During the latest decades, there are increasing cases of post-VZV strokes. However, the mechanics remains unclear, and the protean clinical manifestations and the treatment are to be further studied.
